'Is there something wrong?' Alexander asked, cocking his head.

'You remind me of a wolf back in my old pack. His name was Austin, and he was second in command.' Leah said sadly, a small whining noise escaping her muzzle.

Alexander looked concerned. 'Ah...well, I'm actually the leader of my pack.' he said, a little proudly. He shook his head and composed himself. 'Sorry...if you miss them so much, why don't you go back?' he asked, moving from sitting to laying down.

Leah made a soft sighing noise. 'I would if I could. But I have a mate, and a couple cubs of my own. I couldn't just leave them for such selfish reasons and missing someone.'

'Why don;t you take them with you?' Alexander asked. 'If your pack was so deserving to having you missing them, they'd have to be kind enough to welcome your family.' he said, tilting his head.

'And uproot them from the only life they've known? I couldn't....' She made the sighing noise again. 'Thank you for the advice, but there's really no balance for this.'

'You can find balance, I belive in you.' he said, smiling a wolfish grin.

Leah tilted her head slightly and started to think. 'Hmm....'

'I can't think of a thing...there really isn't balance for me.' Leah closed her eyes and pulled her ears back against her skull.

Alexander's own ears flattened, but his eyes stayed closed. "There is always a balance...Sometimes, it's right under your own nose. Sometimes.....you subconsiously don't want to find it......"

'I suppose, subconsiously, that I don't want to see my old pack, as it would interrupt my life here.' Leah sounded thoughtful, and her head cocked to the side.

"Mmmm." Alexander said quietly, frowning.

'Because I've found a balance here...with my family and such.' Leah still sounded thoughtful, and her eyes had taken on a quiet glimmer.

"It is true that one cannot always make complete balance. Complete happiness is only balanced out by saddness. I think you have the happiness of your family and the saddness of missing your pack to balace out, so the happiness doesn't get to your head." he said, his own voice thoughtfull.
