Aphid smiled to herself as she walked through the town center. Elle's birthday was in a couple months, and she was turning 16. Aphid wanted to get her something special, something...as unique as Elle herself. That was going to be difficult.

Chris walked through the streets, peering into the many shop windows as she passed. "Hmm... what would she like?" She pondered to herself as she stopped and peered into the window of an ancient looking book store. She wiped her hand across it to wipe away the thin layer of dust on the window to get a better look and wrinkled her nose. "Ugh.. looks like a bunch of old junk."

Aphid kept walking, glancing in unusual stores every now and then. "There's nothing here she'd like..." she mumbled to herself, narrowly avoiding a busty woman with her packages. Peering into an antique shop, she spotted a necklace, that had rubies dripping down it with a locket at the bottom where it would rest on Elle's chest. The locket had a small 'E' engraved in it. "It's perfect!!" she nearly shouted, blushing as the people stared at her.

Chris turned her head as she heard a shout close by. She noticed Aphid across the street and smiled. "Must be out shopping for someone." She mumbled quietly. She turned her attention back to the book store and put a finger to her chin in thought.

Aphid went into the store, and saw a lady heading for the same necklace. "Oh no you don't..." she mumbled, smirking to herself. "Hey, ma'am, have you seen the amulets of Aphrodite over there?" she asked the woman, smiling when she stopped and went towards where Aphid had pointed. Aphid rushed to the necklace and looked at the price tag. "$25.00...that's a good price." she mumbled, picking the necklace up and going over to the cashier.

A small smirk found its way onto Chris' lips as she made her decision to go inside. She entered the bookshop and looked around the dim-lit store. Her eyes roamed over the many books on the shelves, hoping to find something interesting.

"Thank you!" Aphid said, smiling. She put the necklace in her purse and left the store, deciding to go window shopping for herself. Walking around, glancing in interesting stores every now and then, she spotted a bookstore. "Looks interesting enough" she mumbled, turning and walking towards the shop.

Chris stopped as her finger traced a leather-bound book tilted on its side on the shelf. The title happened to catch her interest and she pulled it out to look at it.

Aphid noticed someone had already dusted off the window slightly, so she peered in. She saw a familiar head of blond hair and smirked, already heading inside. "Wonder if anything I would like is in here.." she said to herself, smiling.

"Welcome." Jacqueline's voice said quietly, as her head of black hair peered out from behind a shelf. "How may I help you?" her voice was cheerful, but sounded like it wasn't that way often. The girl walked around the shelf she was standing behind, seeming to enjot the company of old books and antuiques. She looked at the two girls, smiling slightly.

Aphid smiled brightly. "Hello! I'm Aphid...I've come to see if there are any Greek mythology books I could possibly get my hands on?" she sounded just a bit too hopeful. Well, it wasn't her fault she liked reading her people, the gods', history. It was just so...interesting!

Chris looked up from the old book she was holding and turned her head. A small grin appeared on her face as she saw Aphid not to far away then turned her attention to the girl who had spoken. "Oh, I'm just looking around. I'm trying to find a gift for a friend."

Aphid glanced around, smiling as she saw ancient books all around her. Books that looked like they had been written in Greek immediately caught her eye.

Jacqueline laughed, "Nice to meet you Aphid." she said, putting a finger to her head. "hmmm, there is a whole section of Greek mytholigy books over there." She pointed to the left of the store. "Who's our favorite?" she asked hopfully, "Athena? Apallo? Zeus?" she said, grinning.
Jacqueline smiled, "Alright, but if you need any help, just ask." she smiled happily, swinging around one of the shelf poles and grabbing a book in one gracful move. She plopped down in a large leather chair next to a small door, setting the book in her lap.

"Aphrodite. I love hearing how people fell in and out of love with her." Her bright red hair shined in the sunlight. "Daddy loves the stories about Zeus. It's weird, 'cause his name is Zeus. And mine's Aphrodite." She giggled, remembering the first time she had made someone fall in love.
