Chris giggled then looked Jacqueline. She smiled slightly. "You're very lucky to get a blessing from a goddess."

Aphid strolled back over to the Greek books, a specific title catching her interest. "Huh...I've never heard this story before..." she said to herself. So much for having read every Greek story there was. She shrugged, and picked it up, flipping the book open.

Jacqueline blinked in suprise, "So it is yours!" she exclaimed. "I...I found it on the riverbed, in a little pink box. But we decided to put it in this, 'cause it matched kinda." Her eyes widened at Aphid's actions. "W...wow! Thank you!" Jacqueline cried, a smile growing across her face. "I know." she said to Chris, "I've read all the stories." Jacqueline giggled, "It's about Aphrodite and the beaded necklace." she said, smiling. "Aphrodite has a small group of dwarves, or elves, im not sure. Make her a beaded necklace of precious metals. One day an ogre tries to take it from her, as is they're attracted to shiny things. But she refused. The ogre continued to try to take the necklace, but then Aphrodite got angry, since the neckalce was a gift. So, using the sweet irany of his own love of gold, she turned him into a gold statue. The story ends with her saying, "A thief is a fool, and a fool is a thief, but never was one so blind." And it turns out, the necklace was only beads, painted shiny. They were never precious metal at all!" She grinned , running her hand over the book's cover.

Aphid laughed. "Someone's happy." she said, a smile lighting up her face. "And I remember that...those dwarves were....ugh." She made a face, then smiled brightly at Jacqueline. A speckled owl flew in at that moment and landed on Aphid's shoulder. "Oh, hello, girl. You've a message?" She asked the bird, gently taking the scroll from her talons. The owl flew off, dropping gems by Jacqueline. Aphid opened the scroll, and read what was written. "Huh...looks like my sisters are getting in trouble. Again." She sighed, blowing her hair out of her face.

Jacqueline nodded. "Very happy indeed. Which is something I only am around this place." she said, her eyes traveling around the antique shop. "And around few people who I usually instantly like." she added slowly, smiling brightly. "I bet" Jacqueline stated, thinking of all the pictures of wrinkled, hairy dwarves she'd seen in books. Jacqueline's eyes widened at the owl, and even more at the gems. "Gems from Athena." she said quietly, "Wow." Jacqueline looked up. "How do they get in trouble? And is there anything I can do to help? It's pretty much closing time anyway." she said, cocking her head as she looked at Aphid.

Chris had nearly forgotten the book in her hands and looked at Jacqueline. "Before you close up, I need to buy this book." She said and gave a small smile.

Jacqueline nodded, "Twenty-five please" she said, walking behind the small counter.

Aphid smiled. "Oh, I forgot. I'd like to buy these, too." She had about 4 thick Greek mythology books in her hands. "And the note didn't say how they were in trouble. Just that they were." The owl flew back in and landed on Jacqueline's shoulder. "I think she likes you." Aphid smiled brightly at the bird, and said something in Greek. She rolled the paper back up and handed it to the owl. "Give this to Athena when you can, hon." The owl screeched.

Jacqueline nodded. "I see." she said, smiling. She counted the prices on the the books and frowned. "You know what, free for you. A goddess deserves to be able to read about herself." Jacqueline said, smilng. "Oh my." Jacqueline said as the owl perched on her, giggling. "She's precious." she said, gingerly reaching out and stroking her feathers.

Chris smiles as she watched them then reached into her purse. She rummaged through it for a moment before pulling out a sky blue wallet. She removed thirty dollars from is and held it up for Jacqueline to take. "Keep the change." She said.

Aphid smiled at the bird, then at Jacqueline. "Thank you! Thank you very much! And yes...she's a beauty, and Athena's favorite animal." She smiled again, and gently stroked the owl's head. "Aren't ya, girl?" The owl screeched and took off from Jacquline's shoulder, gripping the scroll with Aphid's message in it tightly in her talons. She flew around the room a bit, then glided out the door.

Jacqueline smiled and took the money from Chris's hand. "Pleasure doing buisness with you." she said with a smirk. "You're welcome. Very much so." she said as she watched the owl in delight. She gasped when it left her shoulder but smiled as it flew away. "Really? I've read about her having an owl....but the books always said she kept it with her at all times."

"Oh, she lets the owl wander wherever she want. She just always wants to be with Athena. Athena sends her out only to send messages to people. It's how we know they're from her, as she never signs." Aphid smirked. "Athena's my favorite sister. Most people wouldn't guess, considering that beauty is usually associated with stupidity, that Athena and I have in-depth conversations about the going-ons of the world." She sighed. Beauty really was associated with stupidity, and most people thought she was an imbecile.

Chris glanced at her watch. She wanted to stay and chat with them, but her she wanted to get this book to Lori as soon as possible.

Aphid smirked. "And now I really must leave. I have to go see what Athena wanted, and how my sisters are in trouble." She sighed, her face showing how much she just wanted to take a break from being a goddess.
